Jean Cornell

Director of Government Relations

Jean is a Director of Government Relations. She focuses primarily on education, energy, environment, financial services, healthcare, and transportation matters and collaborates with other members of the Plurus Strategies team on defense, tax, technology, telecommunications, and trade issues. 

Most recently, Jean was a Senior Policy Analyst at Daikin U.S. Corporation. She led policy analysis and served as a representative for the company in engagement with federal and state officials on a variety of topics, including energy and the environment, government acquisition, and tax and trade. She served as the policy lead on environmental communications campaigns.

Jean comes to Plurus Strategies with several cycles of campaign experience and political connections. She served as the Political Director for Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) and managed the Congresswoman's political interactions and individual fundraising. During the 2016 cycle, Jean was the Midwest/South Deputy Finance Director at the DCCC, working closely with then-Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), then-Chairman Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), House Members and candidates in the region, and the organization's Tribal Engagement and Active Members (TEAM) Program. She was the Deputy Finance Director for Aimee Belgard in New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District.

Previously, Jean worked as a Legislative Assistant at ML Strategies where she conducted energy and environment, defense, and telecommunications research and policy analysis. She was an intern in the office of Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and handled energy, environment, and transportation research projects and correspondence. Additionally, she interned at EMILY's List and for former State Senator Diane Allen (R-NJ). Jean has been a longtime volunteer with the Alice Paul Institute in her hometown of Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
